We all have stories and want to be heard.  Owning one's narrative and relaying it to others can be very empowering and therapeutic for the individual telling the story. But, how can we translate personal stories that traumatize us to calls of personal triumphs and voices of victory?

RSB uses personal storytelling to drive social change and to empower and bring transformative change and healing. We are certified in Community Storytelling and Community Narrative Therapy. The four main goals of our storytelling sessions are:

  • To provide a conduit for  empowering our population;

  • To break down the walls of stigma that surround around one being vulnerable or "disadvantaged";

  • To inform, bring awareness, and educate the community on population vulnerabilities and equity; and

  • To create new knowledge around vulnerabilities and marginalization and its impact on health

  • To inform stakeholders on the challenges and obstacles faced by those people and communities.

We work with our sister organization, Assisi House, in bringing community-based self-empowering storytelling to anyone who is interested.  If you would like us to conduct storytelling sessions with your organization, please call us at  us at (225) 267-7523 or email us at  redstickbrasandallproject@gmail.com
